Blake Schroedermeier had two hits and Bailey Sage had a home run and three RBI for Freeman. Owen Feser added a hit in the victory.
Jamison Kleinsasser and Preston Gall each had two hits for Menno. Macon Oplinger doubled and Dylan Lehr added a hit for the Mad Frogs.
Trey Christensen pitched 8 1/3 innings, striking out six, for the win. Jackson Fiegen got the final two outs for a save. Oplinger took the loss, striking out six in the complete game effort.
Freeman travels to Wynot and Menno hosts Crofton on Sunday.
Yankton pitching combined for 10 strikeouts in a 5-3 victory over Crofton in South Central League amateur baseball action on Thursday at Yankton’s Riverside Field at Bob Tereshinski Stadium.
Will Rauch homered and Mitch Gullikson doubled for Yankton. Dylan Prouty and Rex Ryken each had a hit in the victory.
Andy Knapp had two hits and two RBI, and Jared Wiebelhaus had two hits for Crofton. Austin Tramp tripled, and James Kaiser and Seth Wiebelhaus each had a hit in the contest.
Aaron Madden struck out six batters in six innings of work for the win. Caden Eymann went the final three innings, striking out four, for the save. Ben Hegge took the loss, striking out six in a complete game effort.
Crofton travels to Menno on Sunday. Yankton is off until a July 13 contest at Tabor, the final game of the regular season for the Tappers.
