Magaly Medina confessed on social media and told all her followers that she has been diagnosed with a rare disease. The announcement surprised all her followers, who expressed concern for the health of the well-known television presenter.

What disease does Magaly Medina suffer from?

During the past few weeks, her followers noticed the swollen belly of Magaly TV La Firme's host and asked her if she had gained weight. Therefore, Medina decided to reveal that she has been diagnosed with the syndrome known as SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).

"Generally, the cause is some kind of disorder in other organs. In my case, according to the doctor and the initial diagnosis, it is that I lack pancreatic enzymes," emphasized Magaly Medina.

Furthermore, she stated that she is taking medication and following the diet prescribed by the specialist. She also revealed that she has lost 2 kilos in a short time since she cannot consume various foods.

"I have been given antibiotics that I have been taking for two weeks and a low FODMAP diet. I cannot eat garlic, onions, asparagus, legumes, nuts. I can only eat fish, turkey, chicken, but I cannot season it. It's a diet that must be followed according to what your doctor tells you. I have lost 2 kilos," she pointed out.

What is SIBO?

Also known as Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. This disease is caused by the excessive presence of bacteria in the small intestine that normally reside in the large intestine. The most common symptoms are flatulence, nausea, bloating and abdominal pain, fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, among others.
