The Dutch defeated Belgium 4-2 and managed to defend the title. They also completely painted the Pro League orange as it is the first time that two teams from the same country, in ladies and gentlemen, managed to lift the trophy in one edition.

In 2019, it was the Oranges in women's and the Australians in men's. In 2020/21, they repeated on the women's side, and it went to the Belgians on the men's side. In 2021/2022, it was the Lionesses who were awarded and the Netherlands in the men's division, and now the Dutch nationality is shared among champions.

The Netherlands reached this match against Belgium, the reigning Olympic champion in Tokyo, as the leader with 32 points, while the rival had 30 points. Belgium had to win all three points or take the bonus point if they reached shoot-outs because that would equalize the points but with a higher number of games won. None of those options came true and finally, led by Jeroen Delmee, they took the victory with a two-goal difference.

Thijs van Dam opened the scoring at 7' and Belgium's equalizer came at 19' with Alexander Hendrickx's drag flick. Jip Janssen and Thierry Brinkman took care of putting the Dutch ahead again in the second quarter, but once again Hendrickx reduced the distance just at the beginning of the third and left everything at 2-3. Finally, a sliding shot from the edge of the area -which they reviewed if it had been inside the circle- by Boris Burkhardt at 47' made it 2-4 for the Netherlands until the end.
