How does this privacy tool work?
After adding this feature, Instagram users who want to share any type of information on the social network will have to send a request to obtain permission. In that sense, the person who receives the messages will have the option to accept or decline it before receiving an unwanted photo in their inbox. It will also be possible to know who the author of the message is.
Finally, in order to protect this new measure, Meta announced that these invitations will be finalized only if the message includes text to "prevent people from sending photos, videos, or voice messages, or making calls until the recipient has accepted the chat invitation."
