After the telephone conversation of Cienciano del Cusco player, Jean Deza, was released, accusing the club of making double payments to its players in order to evade taxes, the Cusco team came forward to deny these allegations through a statement published on their social networks.
"We categorically deny the claims made by footballer Jean Deza in an entertainment program, where he states that the club pays the salaries of the professional squad in 'black and white' format," the document published on their official Facebook and Twitter pages reads.
Following the same line, the Peruvian club stated that the statements made by one of their players only seek to tarnish Cienciano's image, which is why appropriate measures will be taken against the player. "This incident will be evaluated by the Cienciano board, in order to take the necessary measures regarding the mentioned player," they said.
APOLOGIZED
Later, once the statement from the Cusco club was known, 29-year-old forward Jean Deza publicly apologized through an Instagram story. "I apologize for having lied. It has never been, nor is it my intention to tarnish reputations, much less stain the club's image. I categorically deny any irregular situation regarding the payment of my wages," wrote the player.
