Nacional could not overcome Vélez Sarsfield and lost 3-1 in the penalty shootout, in the Copa Alexander Medina match. Miguel Brizuela scored the final goal for 'Fortín'.
National vs. Vélez Sarsfield faced each other on Wednesday, January 11, at 7:30 pm (Peruvian time). The match took place at the Gran Parque Central stadium and was broadcasted by ESPN, STAR Plus, VTV, and Fútbol Libre for all Latin American countries. On this occasion, 'Fortín' won the (3-1) penalty shootout, winning the Copa Alexander Medina trophy. Miguel Brizuela scored the winning penalty for the Argentine team.
