Xbox would be considering launching a more affordable option of its gaming service that offers multiplayer and ads before each game.

Xbox is considering offering users of its cloud gaming subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, a more affordable version with certain limitations, including the option of game download only (and not streaming).

Currently, this subscription service offers three different plans with different prices and functionalities in Spain. The most advanced is Ultimate, which can be obtained for €12.99 (US$14.54) per month, while PC and Console are priced at €9.99 (US$11.18) each.

Microsoft is now considering introducing a new plan with a reduced price of €2.99 (US$3.35). To find out how well this proposal would be received, the company has implemented a survey among users, which has been shared by ResetEra.

In this survey, the characteristics and limitations of this new subscription are detailed, which appears alongside another proposal for a subscription to games with friends and family.

The new basic subscription would have a monthly price of €2.99 (US$3.35) and would be limited to a single user. The company has indicated that, in terms of supported devices, customers can choose between console and PC, and with this plan, they can play own titles that are 6 months or older.

This limited mode would also include online multiplayer and advertising before each game, as well as the option to download titles instead of streaming them, a functionality that the other subscription plan to games with friends and family does offer.

This plan would have a price of €21.99 (US$24.61) and would accommodate up to five users, who can use any combination of PC, Xbox console, mobile, and Smart TV. Also, subscribers to this plan would have access to over 100 games "that will be added over time," according to this survey.

Players on this other plan will also be able to play own titles that are 6 months or older, access exclusive discounts for members, EA Play, play console games on PC, phone, and other devices through the cloud, and online multiplayer.

Unlike the more affordable plan, this expanded plan for five users does not include advertising before each game, but it does allow streaming these titles to other user accounts.
