The Qatar 2022 World Cup moves hearts and fills millions of fans around the world with passion. During this season, it is classic to fill the sticker album with players from all the teams that are part of this important soccer event.
Therefore, Jack Hurtado, albums collector and founder of the store 'La Casa de las Figuritas' and the first 'Football Collectibles Museum', offers us, in an interview for El Comercio, simple recommendations to efficiently fill our album, and the best part, without spending much money.
"I'm going to transmit advice from one of the greatest Mexican collectors, Raúl Valencia, who said that in these times, it is not about quickly filling the album, there used to be that competition, but today we seek to complete the album in the cheapest way possible because costs have increased a lot," clarifies the albums collector.
Tips for filling the Qatar 2022 World Cup album
- Gather your money to buy a box or a 'big pack': "With this pack, we start filling the album with 104 packs of five stickers each. There, we already advance 80% of the collection. Remember that there are duplicates in the big pack.”
- Buy the second 'big pack' with someone else: "Collecting is an individual theme. First, you gather stickers on your own, but you can't fill the album alone, you need someone to support you. You can find a friend to buy another big pack and split the packs in half. There, you would almost have the album ready.”
- Make a list of the stickers you are missing: "In the past, it used to be done by hand, but today there are applications that have a checklist where you mark the stickers you have and the duplicates. Then, the application will show you the stickers you are missing.”
- Look for a sticker swap marathon: "You must find out about the swapping marathons or sticker swap events that exist in parks, shopping centers, or in your own district. You can also exchange with your classmates, coworkers, or relatives.”
“In this simple way, people will be able to complete their album quickly and economically, without spending a fortune... People worry about filling the album, but not about preserving it, and that's the most important thing. I do not advise taking the album to the swap area, it is better to stick the stickers when you have everything complete because when flipping through the pages, the album's staples get damaged and the pages end up coming off,” Jack Hurtado advises.
