It can be recalled that GAN Ltd announced in late 2020 that it had entered a deal to acquire Coolbet. That deal was finalized in January 2021 with the Irvine, California-based company paying $175.9 million in cash and stock to acquire Vincent Group Plc, the parent company of Coolbet.
The merger combined GAN’s B2B expertise and Coolbet’s sportsbook engine and positioned GAN as a full-service B2B solutions provider for real money gaming in the United States and as an integrated B2C player in selected international markets. The deal also saw Coolbet’s proprietary sports betting tech integrated with GAN’s stack B2B technology for a new sports betting platform ready to cater to the U.S. market.
Since the completion of the deal, the teams from the two companies have worked together to create a fully-integrated offering and one that is customizable for each client’s needs. By leveraging two of the most complete solutions in the industry, both domestically and internationally, the merged company was able to come up with the new product GAN Sports.

GAN Sports’ launch at Island View Casino saw 20 internet-connected kiosks strategically scattered across the casino building. Soon, the company is expected to launch a mobile sportsbook called the Bet the V mobile sportsbook which is enabled by GAN’s GameSTACK Player Account Management System. The mobile sportsbook will allow customers to bet on their mobile devices while in the vicinity of Island View Casino.
Also, GAN will provide marketing and customer services to deliver a complete end-to-end solution that will maximize the customer experience. In addition, GAN said in a press release that “statewide mobile sports betting and iGaming are incremental exclusive opportunities” for the merged company if supporting legislation emerges in the future.
