This Sunday, August 21, Children's Day is celebrated in our country, dedicated to understanding childhood and carrying out activities aimed at promoting their well-being. In this line, this commemoration is a good opportunity to know how to control the time that children spend in front of a screen, specifically a smartphone.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), children under two years old should not be exposed to screens, such as television, tablets, or cell phones, according to the first guidelines for children under five years old published by this institution. It also recommends that between the ages of two and five, these devices be used for a maximum of one hour a day and always combined with physical activities, playtime, and sleep in order to reduce sedentary behavior.

Parental Control works on Android devices where the child logs in with their Google account. To do this, the parent must enter their Google account password to be able to configure or change the child's parental control settings. Once this is done, the following steps must be followed:

  • Open the Family Link application
  • Select your child's account.
  • Tap "Manage settings" and then Google Play, in order to approve content and control app purchases for your family with a single payment method.
  • Select the type of content you want to filter.
  • Choose how you want to filter the content or restrict access.

You can also use the rest of Google's functions integrated with your entire family to schedule all activities and keep everyone informed.
