Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War would have been acquired by Disney Plus.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the latest storyline featuring Ichigo Kurosaki. However, fans of Kubo Tite's most successful work have just received a leak indicating that Disney+ has acquired the streaming license rights associated with this part of the anime, which will premiere in October in Japan.

The first to issue the alert was the SugoiLITE account, through Twitter, which is responsible for making certain unconfirmed data in the anime industry public. The announcement was brief and straight to the point:

"The streaming license for the TV series 'Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War' has been acquired by Disney+."

Will there really be censorship in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War by Disney Plus?

There is no doubt that when a person thinks of "Disney," it automatically associates with content for all audiences. No blood, much less dismemberment, could be seen in the series within its varied range of offerings. That's why Bleach fans are worried about whether the version of the anime that can be seen on their platform will be true to the cable broadcast in its country of origin.

However, this conveniently ignores the latest moves made by Disney Plus in the anime department. An example was the acquisition earlier this year of the rights to Summer Time Rendering, an animated series that is not at all shy about showing blood, knife wounds, and even shots to the face. Unfortunately, its broadcast in our part of the world has not yet been approved.

What is worrying, however, is that there is no simulcast of the series as CrunchyRoll usually does. This would cause the series' reach to drop drastically, and fans would have to resort to "alternative methods" to watch the series. In any case, we are only facing a rumor, and if Disney+ acquires the rights to that part of Bleach, it is expected that on September 8, the situation will be clarified.
