MLS vs. Liga MX: The All Star Game Preview
The teams from MLS and Liga MX had just settled on the Allianz Field when the first goal of the night arrived. Just 3 minutes into the first half, Carlos Vela put the team of the American league's stars in the lead in the so-called All Star Game.
After leaving a rival behind on the left side of the attack, Colombian Diego Palacios crossed the ball at the height of the second post. There appeared Vela, who with a powerful header beat goalkeeper Camilo Vargas and put the score at 1-0.
Carlos Vela, forward for Los Angeles FC and who already has seven goals in the current MLS season, welcomed his compatriot 'Chicharito' Hernandez to celebrate. Other members of the team led by Adrian Heath joined in the celebration.
Under the technical direction of Argentine Diego Cocca, coach of the Mexican two-time champion, Atlas, the Liga MX representative is ready to compete against the most outstanding figures of the Major League Soccer.
"Very proud and anxious to be able to share this amount of talent alongside Liga MX, eager to train and lead them and I take it as a prize because we have all earned it and surely we come with expectations," said Cocca before the match.
On the other side will be the MLS team, which has among its top players Mexicans Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez and Carlos Vela, and Peruvian Raul Ruidiaz.
