The Buffalo Bills have an open roster spot, but no they have not signed Odell Beckham Jr.
In today’s social media age, there are also fake accounts of popular websites and newsbreaking accounts. One example would be a fake Bleacher Report (B/R) account that even made Beckham Jr., also known as OBJ, think he had joined the Bills.
The fake Bleacher Report account put out a tweet announcing the receiver had joined the Bills and the photoshop certainly looked like something B/R would use as its graphic.
If you look closely at the account, however, you can see that the user name has a ‘t’ thrown in Bleacher. Despite it being a fake account, Beckham Jr. woke up to numerous notifications and said that he asked how much he signed for with Buffalo. He went on to even give a little shoutout to Von Miller, his former teammate in Los Angeles.
OBJ appeared in eight regular season games with the Los Angeles Rams last year and scored five touchdowns over that span of time. The receiver shifted his game into an even higher gear when the games mattered most.
In the NFC Championship Game, Beckham Jr. caught nine passes for 113 yards in the Rams’ 20-17 win over the 49ers. He looked like he was on his way to contending for Super Bowl MVP catching two passes for 52 yards and one touchdown before exiting the game against the Bengals with about four minutes left in the first half after suffering a non-contact knee injury. Los Angeles’ offense sputtered after losing OBJ, but the team was able to pull out a 23-20 win.
Although it appeared that Beckham Jr. suffered the torn ACL in the Super Bowl, the receiver recently stated that he played “the whole back half of the season without an ACL.”
Regardless of when it happened, Beckham Jr. is not expected to be ready to play until November or December this season. For that reason, he remains on the free agent market. If Buffalo finds themselves looking for one more playmaker for a Super Bowl push, perhaps OBJ will get to reunite with Von Miller again.
