In week 21 of the United States - MLS 2022 tournament, Rapids celebrated twice against LA Galaxy. The goals for the home team were scored by Diego Rubio (19' 1T) and Gyasi Zardes (29' 2T).

Gyasi Zardes made the stadium vibrate with his finish, in the 29th minute of the second half. After receiving an assist from Jonathan Lewis, the forward placed it to the right post and low. Impossible for the goalkeeper!

Jonathan Lewis was the man of the match. The midfielder from Colorado Rapids made 2 accurate passes and took 4 shots at goal.

Gyasi Zardes was also important. The forward from Colorado Rapids scored 1 goal and had 3 shots on the opposite goal.

The game between both teams was highlighted by dirty play. There were a large number of cautioned players: Rayan Raveloson, Julian Araujo, Danny Wilson, Nick DePuy, Robin Fraser, Chase Gasper, and Collen Warner.

On the other hand, the team led by Greg Vanney lined up in a 4-5-1 formation with Jonathan Bond in goal; Julian Araujo, Nick DePuy, Derrick Williams, and Chase Gasper in defense; Efraín Álvarez, Rayan Raveloson, Sacha Kljestan, Raheem Edwards, and Kevin Cabral in the midfield; and Dejan Joveljic in the forward position.

Referee Guido Gonzales Jr. was selected to officiate the match.

In the next match, Rapids will visit Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy will play at home against Atlanta United at Dignity Health Sports Park.
