WhatsApp is reportedly testing with its beta testers the addition of voice notes to the statuses within the app. Currently, this application only allows you to upload images or videos, just like Facebook and Instagram stories. However, this change could signify an innovation for the rest of the apps owned by Meta.
Whether these clips are saved or existing voice notes in a chat, that remains to be seen. But it is expected that, in any case, a user's contacts can view and listen to the content of the Story in question.

The report of this new feature comes thanks to WaBetaInfo, who has published a screenshot taken by a certain user who has had access to a build of the application that neither iOS nor Android beta testers have access to yet through WhatsApp Beta.
As we can see, we see the voice recording icon in the lower right part just above the icon that allows us to add text to our story. Please note that if this feature is activated in the future, the voice note would be shared with your contacts according to your security settings. It is also estimated that the voice note will be encoded both ways, just like our communications within the app.
This new feature is in the pre-beta phase, which means it is unlikely that we will see this function active in the following weeks. So we will have to wait a few months to see if this is realized after the beta testing period.
