Nintendo just made it clear that it is serious about adapting its IPs into movies or series. Today it was revealed that Dynamo Pictures, a Japanese CGI animation studio, will be acquired by The Big N with the intention of changing its name to "Nintendo Pictures". This goes hand in hand with the Japanese manufacturer's intention to continue venturing into cinema.
Although the purchase will not be finalized until October of this year, Dynamo Pictures' blog has already made the exclusivity agreement with Nintendo public. While in the past they have worked with studios such as Square Enix, Platinum Games, CAPCOM, Atlus, FromSoftware, and more; from now on they will only work for the creators of Mario.

On the other hand, Nintendo referred to the matter by indicating that, when the purchase is finalized in October, Dynamo Pictures will cease to exist and will be called 'Nintendo Pictures'. This is one more step forward for the creation of CGI animated adaptations of various intellectual properties owned by The Big N.
It is known that currently Illumination (Dispicable me, Minions, etc) is working on a Mario movie with Chris Pratt voicing the well-known plumber. With this new acquisition, Nintendo will ensure that a new adaptation is made 100% in-house and with high quality control.
Nintendo's ambitions are clear and quite logical. The Detective Pikachu movie had a warm reception from fans and the box office. Sonic The Hedgehog, from SEGA, also did its part twice. Therefore, it is not surprising that a good budget has been allocated to the purchase of Dynamo Pictures if more is to be done with Nintendo's properties.
