A teacher from the United States has set an example of what it means to love this profession in which they have the great task of educating the citizens of the future. Taking advantage of the presence of social networks in the daily lives of children and teenagers around the world, the educator decided to create a rap to make math more fun, whose video became trending on YouTube, earning thousands of praises.
An innovative idea
Our protagonist's name is Jordan Orosco, a math teacher at Deer Valley High School in Antioch, California, who has decided to write a couple of rhymes so that his students don't struggle too much with this subject.
Orosco assured Kron4 that he is not a rapper outside of class: "I make a lot of math jokes with my kids all the time. I often joked, 'I could also make a rap song, you know?' one day during spring break, I found this rhythm on YouTube".
Therefore, when he presented the theme to his students, they had a reaction he never imagined: "They loved it!".
Students want 'Rap Math' to go viral
Faced with this, the educator says, his students decided that the math rap should have a video to be shared on social networks like YouTube, using the Deer Valley program from the school itself, where the images were published showing the teacher rapping and dancing around the campus.
The video includes many students in charge of Jordan Orosco participating in the making of the video as if they were dancers: "I had a duffel bag full of clothes to change into," confessed the viral teacher.
Promises more math rhymes
However, after becoming a trend on social networks, Orosco promises that he will continue to create more rap this year to include them in his teaching method, topics for which he has confessed to be working on new lyrics and rhymes.
"We always have to solve problems in life, I hope that's what you can take away from my class," said the teacher to Kron4, who reflected on how strengthening students' skills in this subject can help them face various challenges in daily life.
