OKLAHOMA CITY – Oregon State begins play Thursday in the Women’s College World Series when the Beavers face Florida at 4 p.m. at OGE Energy Field.
The Beavers’ appearance is just the school’s second ever at the WCWS. Oregon State last played in the WCWS in 2006.

Bottom fifth: Echols hits a one-out homer to center field. Lindsey is aboard with a two-out single. Kistler follows with a single to right, putting runners at first and third. Steptoe replaces Haendiges in the circle for Oregon State. Decker, a pinch hitter, singled to drive in LIndsey, moving Kistler to third. Kistler then scored on an RBI single by Goelz. Top second: Simon leadoff walk. Rivera singles to left. Whatley slaps a bunt past third baseman to load the bases with no out. Gators go to the pen and bring in Natalie Lugo. Top first: Gin cracks a one-out double to right. With two outs, Hammoude hits a sharp single to center, scoring Gin. Messmer walks to put runners at first and second. Runners are stranded. Oregon State 1, Florida 0
