A new spot of Spider-Man: No Way Home (Spider-Man: Without way home) seems to have changed a key detail in a scene from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) compared to previous trailers. The film, directed by Jon Watts, hits theaters on December 16.
However, in the new promo, it says "when I closed that spell, we started getting visitors." According to MCU Direct, this means that Doctor Strange ended the spell before Spider-Man could interrupt him, debunking the theory that chaos is unleashed by a failed spell.
Another interpretation is that the original phrase was an alternative take recorded for advertising purposes, and the final version of the movie will include the second phrase that will be the key to explaining the arrival of characters from other realities, among which could be the versions of Peter Parker embodied by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
"For the first time in Spider-Man's cinematic history, our hero, neighbor, and friend is unmasked and, therefore, no longer able to separate his normal life from the enormous risks that being a superhero entails. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange, the risks become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man," says the film's synopsis.
