NEW ORLEANS -- The cornerback for the Buffalo Bills, Tre'Davious White, was ruled out to return after suffering a knee injury in the second quarter of Thursday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.

White is one of the team's top defensive players and is a significant loss for a unit that was getting its injured players back. Backup Dane Jackson replaced him with Buffalo leading 10-0.

When White is the closest defender to the receiver this season, the All-Pro cornerback is allowing a completion percentage of 50.8 and a passer rating of 58.9, both figures rank fourth among defensive backs with over 50 passes in their direction this campaign, according to NFL's Next Gen Stats.

In a quarter and a half of work against the Saints, White was targeted once and didn't allow any receptions. The injury occurred when he was covering wide receiver Marquez Callaway. After leaving the field limping, he was visibly frustrated on the sideline before being examined in the team's medical tent and then heading to the locker room.
