The Bayern München begins the second half of the Bundesliga with a victory over Hamburger SV

The Bundesliga, Central FOX, FC Bayern Munich, Hamburger SV opened this Friday the second half of the German Bundesliga with an away victory against Hamburg (1-2) thanks to two goals from Polish player Robert Lewandowski, the first of them from a penalty.

After the winter break, Bayern counted on the return of several injured players such as Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa and David Alaba, but now will have to do without central Jerome Boateng for an undetermined period due to a groin injury.

In Bayern's starting lineup, the only surprise was that Pep Guardiola decided to leave Robben on the bench and instead put Kingsley Coman on the left wing, while the right wing was taken by Brazilian Douglas Costa.

Hamburg chose to lead the match physically from the beginning, making things difficult for Bayern in the first 30 minutes of play.

Bayern had a clear superiority in terms of ball possession, but the first shot on goal was for Hamburg with a long-range shot in the 13th minute. The first opportunity was also for the Hanseatic team, in the feet of Dickmeier in a counterattack.

However, these were two isolated actions in a match in which not much was happening. Until that moment, Bayern had not shot on goal and there was little or nothing to indicate a formula to reach René Adler's goal.

The deadlock was broken in the 37th minute with a penalty goal by Robert Lewandowski. The penalty occurred with a long pass that Philipp Lahm put to Thomas Müller against Adler, who came out hastily and committed a foul against the Bavarian forward.

Müller, the regular penalty taker for Bayern, gave the shot to Lewandowski following the maxim that the player who receives a foul should not take the free kick. And the Polish player didn't fail.

In the second half, Bayern found it easier from the start to reach the opposing goal. Already in the 47th minute, they had a good opportunity with a shot from Coman that Adler deflected for a corner kick.

Then came shots from Costa in the 49th minute and Lewandowski in the 50th minute, and a header over the crossbar by Thiago Alcántara. In six minutes, Bayern had more chances than in the first half but what came next was, against all odds, Hamburg's equalizer.

The goal came in the 53rd minute with a free kick from more than 30 meters by Aaoron Hunt. Hunt put the ball into the box, Pierre-Michel Lassoga and Xabi Alonso battled for it, confusing Manuel Neuer who couldn't react in time when the ball touched the ground and went into his goal.

Hamburg was emboldened after the goal and even tried to catch Bayern off guard, but the illusion lasted only three minutes. A shot from Thomas Müller from outside the area hit Lewandowski's leg, changing the ball's trajectory and giving Adler no chance to react.

Later, Bayern had more chances. The clearest one was a free kick by David Alaba that hit the post.
