The passion for video games should not be an obstacle to one's academic performance.
Furthermore, it can be leveraged by studying various careers to capitalize on that passion. It is precisely this approach that has been seen in the latest "CAR Talks", the series of talks with specialists in the esports and video game industry at the Claro Gaming High Performance Center, and which we will comment on below.
Josué started the talk by asking Andrei Mendigure, who holds the position of Academic Coordinator of Administration and Marketing at UTP, about the careers most related to gaming. While one might think that Systems Engineering would be one of them, it was clarified that the gaming world is currently so broad that even administrators and accountants are needed.
With the intention of dispelling doubts and uncertainties, UTP has made available to potential students a tool called "Visualízate". This platform aims to determine the vocation of the applicant in order to choose a career that goes hand in hand with their interests. This is one of the many ways in which UTP extends its service to young people, in addition to experiential workshops and other activities.
Jorge Bohorquez, a teacher in the Engineering faculty, took some time to talk about the importance of having a university career alongside our passion for video games. While there are exemplary cases of multimillionaires with little or almost no university education, having a university career to know how to manage our income will prepare us for the future.
UTP is no stranger to the esports topic. Let's remember that together with the PESA team, they collaborated on a League of Legends tournament, and also with the Peruvian PES League in the last JuegaPES XI that took place last month.
