The violent incident occurred in the first division of Northern Ireland
YouTube brings us an unusual event. Aaron McCarey, goalkeeper for Glentoran in the Northern Ireland league, was sent off after assaulting a teammate for not preventing a rival goal that meant the 2-2 against Coleraine.
After conceding that goal in the 80th minute, McCarey ran out of his area towards the position of his teammate Bobby Burns, who lost the ball in the central zone and gave rise to the play that resulted in the rival's equalizer.
McCarey, visibly angry, hits Burns in the face before grabbing him by the shirt, when his teammate was on the ground.
"Aaron has shaken hands with Burns in the locker room and told him it should never have happened," explained Glentoran coach Mick McDermott.
