Hundreds of Argentine fans rally for justice for Diego Maradona

Hundreds of Argentine fans rallied on Wednesday around the Obelisco in Buenos Aires, the traditional epicenter of football celebrations, to demand justice for Diego Maradona, who died on November 25 at the age of 60 under circumstances being investigated by a prosecutor's office.

"Social and judicial condemnation for the guilty", read a large banner carried by Dalma (33) and Gianinna (31), the daughters that the '10' had with his ex-wife Claudia Villafañe. The three of them showed up at the scene wearing a shirt with the inscription "Justice for D10s", how the fans refer to Maradona, but they quickly had to leave amidst a lack of control from the protesters.

Also present at the event was Maradona's youngest of five children, Diego Fernando, 8 years old, along with his mother Verónica Ojeda, a former partner of the world champion from the 1986 Mexico World Cup.

The '10M' demonstration was organized through social media by fan groups of Maradona, including the Maradonian Church, with the slogan "Justice for Diego. He didn't die, they killed him".

The gathering spiraled out of control, which led to Maradona's daughters and ex-wife Claudia Villafañe leaving the gathering. Hours later, Dalma explained what happened via Instagram.

"Thanks to my friends who accompanied me and thanks to all the people who genuinely came to demand justice for my dad. Luckily, I don't have to give interviews to explain anything because everyone knows that we only went to ask for justice. Today was not the day for anything else", wrote Maradona and Villafañe's eldest daughter.
