Inter defeats Milan and qualifies for Copa Italia semifinals
With a goal by Danish Christian Eriksen in stoppage time (90+7), Inter defeated Milan 2-1 on Tuesday and qualified for the semifinals of the Italian Cup.
Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic had given the lead to Rossoneri in the first half (32) and Belgian Romelu Lukaku equalized for Inter from a penalty in the second half (71).
The equalizer came minutes after Milan played with ten men due to Ibrahimovic's expulsion, who received his second yellow card for a harsh tackle on Kolarov.
"The difference was simply that we were left with ten men. With eleven men against eleven, the game was open and we were ahead," Milan coach Stefano Pioli lamented after the match, claiming to be unaware of what the two players had said to each other. AFP
