After the great success of last weekend with the All Star Weekend 11 series (nights 1 and 2), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla announced a few days ago the matches for the first show of the year 2016, specifically on January 2nd. It is worth highlighting the return of Adam Cole, who already made his comeback to the Super Dragon company during the past weekend, ending an absence of almost a year in PWG. We will also see the confrontation between two returning wrestlers to the company: this year's Battle Of Los Angeles winner, Zack Sabre Jr., and the Japanese, Akira Tozawa. In addition, Los Güeros Del Cielo return to the PWG ring, but not as a team; Jack Evans will face the Scottish Drew Galloway, while Angélico will face Brian Cage in a duel with a AAA flavor. The only title match announced for the event is the clash between the champion, Roderick Strong, and Chris Hero, who will try to take the belt with his devastating elbows.
As you all know, Ring of Honor and PWG have signed a talent exchange agreement as long as the dates do not overlap. Thanks to this approach between the two parties, we were able to see Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly at All Star Weekend 11, but will more ROH wrestlers arrive in the Super Dragon company's roster? Everything seems to indicate that we will witness many more surprises at New Year Kickoff.
The card for the January 2nd event is as follows:
Heavyweight Championship Match PWG: Roderick Strong (c) vs. Chris Hero
Cole fights again in a PWG ring: Adam Cole vs. "Speedball" Mike Bailey
Individual match: Jack Evans vs. Drew Galloway
The winner of BOLA 2015 returns: Zack Sabre, Jr. vs. Akira Tozawa
Second stage of Callihan in PWG: Sami Callihan vs. Trevor Lee
Technical duel: Timothy Thatcher vs. Drew Gulak
AAA talent clash: Brian Cage vs. Angelico
