Fenerbahce signs Argentine midfielder José Sosa
Fenerbahce from Istanbul confirmed on Saturday the signing of Argentine midfielder José Sosa for two seasons, a situation that angered Estudiantes de La Plata's president Juan Sebastián Verón as they were in talks for his return to Pincharrata.
"Welcome to Fenerbahce," tweeted the Turkish club, along with an image of the Argentine player wearing the blue-yellow shirt with the number 5.
Sosa leaves behind his role as captain at Trabzonspor, the second-place team in the Turkish Super League, where he has played for three years.
The signing of 'Principito' Sosa by Fenerbahçe was surprising for Estudiantes de la Plata. "We found out about José's decision through social media," said Juan Sebastián Verón in statements to Cielosports.
"When this lack of communication started, and we were able to talk to José, I told him: 'If you have doubts, don't come back.' That was my suggestion. Coming back to the country is not a decision that can be made in ten days because you are choosing where you project your life," added the president of Pincha.
What bothered La Brujita the most is that José Sosa or anyone in his circle did not communicate the decision to stay in Turkey. "I would have liked him to communicate with the club after our conversation... It is easy to talk about values, but they must be shown through actions."
