Piccolo Clemente Wins Longboard World Championship
The Peruvian surfer Piccolo Clemente was crowned as the champion of the 2015 Longboard World Championship in China on Wednesday, after defeating American Taylor Jensen in the final with waves ranging from 4 to 5 feet.
Piccolo Clemente scored 18.30 out of 20, surpassing Taylor Jensen's score of 17.70. This is the second time in his career that he becomes world champion, having previously won the title in 2013.
"I feel incredible. After being eliminated early in last year's competition, I felt frustrated, so I have been working hard all year for this World Championship. The waves were amazing all day, it was a perfect day," said Piccolo Clemente.
However, Piccolo Clemente highlighted the quality of the tough opponent he faced in the final. "Taylor is an incredible competitor, I have great respect for him, so I am very happy to beat him," he concluded. There are reasons to celebrate.
