The controversial pre-match display of Lech Poznan fans in Poland

The classic football match in Poland had a controversial pre-match display. Minutes before the game against Legia Warsaw, the Lech Poznan fans showed a mosaic with a threatening message towards the players.

As the players entered the field of the Municipal Stadium in Poznan, the local team's supporters unveiled a giant banner with the image of Pablo Escobar, former leader of the Medellin Cartel, and an intimidating message.

"Ball or lead", that was the phrase from the ultras to the players, indicating that they had to win the classic match by any means necessary, regardless of Legia Warsaw being 11 points ahead at the top of the Polish league.

The Lech Poznan fans referred to Pablo Escobar's characteristic phrase: "Silver or lead", which was his way of negotiation. It gave the choice between receiving money for corrupt acts or being killed.

Finally, Lech Poznan won the classic match. Kamil Jozwiak (24') and Jakub Kaminski (29') scored for the local team in the first half, while Igor Lewczuk (70') pulled one back for Legia Warsaw, who, despite the defeat, remains on track for the title.
