Manchester City's appeal session against UEFA ends
The sessions of appeal by Manchester City and UEFA have ended this Wednesday and the final verdict will be announced in the first half of July, according to the organism located in Lausanne (Switzerland). The exact date will be revealed later.
"The hearing, started on June 8th, 2020 in the morning, has been conducted through videoconference, with participants in Lausanne and London, and witnesses from various countries, as agreed. At the end of the session, both parties expressed their satisfaction with how the proceedings were carried out," the TAD explained.
Manchester City was penalized for committing serious infractions in UEFA licensing regulations and financial fair play, by exaggerating their sponsorship benefits in the information transmitted to UEFA between 2012 and 2016.
The City was sanctioned with a two-year ban from European competitions and a fine of 30 million euros.
The UEFA control body also accused City of not cooperating in the investigation, which started in March 2019 when the club claimed the allegations of irregularities were completely false.
