Gennaro Gattuso, coach of Napoli, lost his sister Francesca, at the age of 37, due to a serious illness, as reported by the Neapolitan team in an official statement.
"(The president) Aurelio De Laurentiis, with his wife Jacqueline and their children Luigi, Edoardo and Valentina, the executives, the coaching staff, the team, all of SSC Napoli and Filmauro (the president's film company) embrace tightly Rino Gattuso and share in the immense grief over the death of sister Francesca," the "azzurro" club wrote.
Francesca Gattuso, Gattuso's younger sister, had been hospitalized in Busto Arsizio, Lombardy (northern Italy), for several months due to a serious illness and passed away on Tuesday.
Gennaro Gattuso, who had recently started directing group training for Napoli, left the southern city to travel to Lombardy after learning of his sister's death.
