Werder Bremen further deepened Schalke 04's crisis by defeating them (0-1) at the Gelsenkirchen club, who suffered their fourth consecutive loss since the Bundesliga resumed after the forced hiatus due to the coronavirus.

Leonardo Bittencourt scored the only goal for Werder Bremen with a left-footed shot from outside the box in the 32nd minute. The play started with a ball loss by Jean-Clair Todibo in the central line in a duel with Klaasen. Bittencourt then fired from about 22 meters away, seeing Alexander Nubel slightly advanced, and scored close to the far post.

This was not only Schalke's fourth consecutive defeat, but also the third in a row against a team struggling against relegation.

Werder Bremen, second-to-last in the standings, secured a victory that could be the start of a series to keep them from relegation.

Hertha, on the other hand, achieved their fourth consecutive victory by defeating Augsburg 2-0 with goals from Dutch Javairo Dilrosus and Polish Krzystof Piatek.

Dilrosus opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a shot inside the box, and Piatek sealed the win with a counterattack in injury time.

With this victory, Hertha surpassed Schalke and is four points away from the qualifying positions for the Europa League.

Eintracht Frankfurt achieved an important victory to move away from the relegation spots by defeating Wolfsburg 1-2.

André Silva scored from the penalty spot in the 27th minute for Eintracht. In the 59th minute, Kevin Mbabu equalized with a header after a free kick from the right by Maximilian Arnold.

Japanese Daicho Kamada made it 2-1 for Eintracht with a shot inside the box assisted by a header from Dutch Bas Dost, who had received a cross from Kostic from the left.

Eintracht played the final seconds of the match with ten men due to the expulsion of Spanish player Lucas Torro for a second yellow card.

Hoffenheim defeated Mainz 05 0-1 with a solitary goal by Ihlas Bebou on a counterattack in the 43rd minute.
