The Spaniard Cesc Fábregas resigned four months of his total salary so that Mónaco employees can receive 100% of their salaries, as reported by the newspaper Marca. The World Cup champion with Spain in 2010 had already performed a generous action with the elderly due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus.

"Cesc Fábregas has not forgotten about the Mónaco employees. Apart from the salary reduction that the club owners of the Principality are negotiating with the entire squad, the former world champion has decided to give up four months of his salary so that those around the team and those who work at the club can maintain their incomes in these difficult and complicated times for everyone. Cesc will cover the 30% wage cuts they have suffered," the media said.

Similarly, the newspaper pointed out that there is still no agreement between the first team and Mónaco. "The global agreement between the teams and the French management is not yet closed, but Cesc did not want time to pass without a solution, taking action and helping those who are also his teammates even though they don't wear the uniform," the newspaper added.

This is not the only act of selflessness by Fábregas, who had already performed a great action with the elderly. "This is not the first gesture made by the Spanish midfielder, as he paid for a hotel out of his own pocket so that all the elderly residents of a nursing home in Arenys, with some positive cases, could isolate themselves from the virus," the media said.
