In Cruz Azul, the desire for a championship remains alive, but every day it becomes more difficult to imagine La Máquina with a Cup in their trophy cabinet.

However, the title has ceased to be a pressure at La Noria and a qualification is not everything on the road to a final. And although the idea doesn't sound logical based on the blue wishes, the Club President has a very good reason to defend his stance.

"For the third consecutive tournament, we have not achieved qualification. It's difficult, but it's not the only objective. If it was all about qualifying, we would have qualified for 51 tournaments. It's about being a protagonist, reaching a final with aspirations for success. At this moment, an evaluation can only be made after the Tigres match and the end of the tournament."

Despite Cruz Azul's performance this season, Álvarez confirmed Tomás Boy as the coach of La Máquina for one more year and added that he is supported for being a good coach and human being.

"Boy doesn't deliver results considering the difficult circumstances he joined the team in. But his honesty and talent are not in question, he has always been an exceptional person and will continue for one more year with Cruz Azul," he said.
