Layvin Kurzawa is one of Arsenal's main targets in the market
It should be noted that the full-back is ending his contract with PSG this year, so the Gunners want to strengthen their defensive line with the Frenchman. At 27 years old, he has proven to be more than capable player in the Old Continent, despite having seen his progression somewhat hindered.
However, according to the information gathered by TMW, Thomas Tuchel, coach of the current Ligue 1 champion, has no intention of letting go of his still pupil. At the very least, he wants to guarantee Kurzawa's continuity in Parc des Princes until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
"Honestly, we need him. I haven't talked to him, or anyone else, about him leaving. Now, we have Bernat in that position, but he's injured. What would we do without Kurzawa? He's been playing well, he's there, etc. He's training really well, as he always does. He has to prove that he's ready, that we can count on him," Tuchel assured before the Cup match with Lorient.
The PSG executives had almost closed the deal with Arsenal for Kurzawa's transfer, but everything indicates that the former Borussia Dortmund coach wants to have his services. That is why we will have to stay tuned for updates in this winter transfer window, which will close definitively next Friday, January 31st.
