Simon Kjaer moves to AC Milan on loan from Sevilla
Simon Kjaer is on the move again. Just four months after joining Atalanta, the Danish center-back leaves the team to embark on a new adventure at AC Milan. The defender arrives at San Siro on loan from Sevilla.
"Simon Kjaer, Sevilla player loaned to Atalanta BC, has terminated his loan agreement with the Bergamo club and has started a new loan period, this time with AC Milan, where Sevilla FC and Milan have included a purchase option for the Danish center-back at the end of the season," the statement released by Sevilla FC explained.
During his short stint with Atalanta, the defender played only 6 official matches, a meager number that has been crucial for all parties involved to value the operation that led him to land in Milan.
Kjaer, 30, was signed by Sevilla in the summer of 2017 (for just over €12M) and since then has appeared in 64 matches for the Seville team (3 goals and 1 assist). Whether he can generate any profit for the club at the end of the season will depend on his performance under the guidance of Stefano Pioli.
