Italian Defender Mattia Caldara Leaves AC Milan
In the summer of 2018, Mattia Caldara joined AC Milan from Juventus for a significant fee of €35 million. However, a lack of opportunities in the rossoneri squad has led to his departure. The 25-year-old defender bids farewell to Milan and will now join another project in Serie A.
Atalanta is the Next Destination
Specifically, Caldara will move to Atalanta, the club where he showcased his best form. He will be joining on an 18-month loan deal. The agreement between both parties also includes an option for Atalanta to buy Caldara. It is clear that he will enjoy more playing time and continuity in Bergamo.
AC Milan Reinforces Defense with Simon Kjaer
Danish defender Simon Kjaer, who was on loan at Atalanta from Sevilla in the first half of the season, now arrives at AC Milan. The 30-year-old center-back will join on a loan deal until the end of the season. Sevilla, who have Kjaer under contract until June 2021, may sell him to Milan for €10 million through an option included in the deal.
