Manchester United struggling in the Premier League
Thirteen matchdays into the Premier League, Manchester United finds themselves in a rather discreet ninth position on the table. The Red Devils started the season with renewed hopes, but the passing weeks have shown that their project is still far from being truly competitive.
Interest in Nicoló Zaniolo
In an attempt to give their team a new boost, the Manchester United board has already started negotiations with several players who could fit perfectly into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans. One of these players is Nicoló Zaniolo, a versatile 20-year-old Italian midfielder currently playing his second season for AS Roma.
Manchester United willing to invest €60M
According to recent reports from Il Messagero, the Old Trafford club would be willing to invest around €60M in the signing of Zaniolo. This is undoubtedly a significant amount, but it may still fall short of the expectations of the Italian club, as they have the player under contract until 2024.
Competition from Paris Saint-Germain
To make matters worse, in order to recruit the Italian international (5 matches, 2 goals), the English club will also have to overcome strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain. The French team has also shown interest in signing the player who, until now, has played 53 official matches for Roma, scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists.
