Switzerland thrashed Gibraltar and Denmark drew in Dublin.

A draw was enough for both

Both Switzerland and Denmark accomplished their goal of qualifying for Euro 2020. Switzerland, who beat Gibraltar 6-1 on the island, and Denmark, who drew 1-1 in Dublin, finished first and second in the closely contested Group D.

Ireland misses out

Both Switzerland and Denmark had the chance to qualify in the final match, but ultimately it was Ireland, the only team playing at home, who failed to qualify for the Euro... for now, as they still have a chance through the Nations League playoffs.

Euro experience for Denmark and Switzerland

For Denmark, the 1992 champions, it will be their ninth European Championship, while for Switzerland it will be their fifth edition.

Danish draw in Dublin

Christian Eriksen's Denmark drew 1-1 against Ireland in Dublin in the tenth match of Group D, with a goal from Leganés forward Martin Braithwaite (73).

Denmark secures their spot

The team led by Age Hareide, who only needed a draw, saw Matthew Doherty equalize four minutes before the end, but the Danes held on stoically to secure their presence in next summer's continental tournament, finishing the group with 16 points, one less than Switzerland.

Switzerland advances with a big win

The Swiss sealed their qualification with a 6-1 victory over Gibraltar.

Comfortable win for Switzerland

The 'Nati', who needed just one point against the modest Gibraltar side to secure qualification, comfortably achieved their goal with goals from Cédric Itten (10 and 84), Ruben Vargas (50), Christian Fassnacht (57), Loris Benito (75), and Granit Xhaka (86), while Reece Styche (74) scored the consolation goal for the hosts.
