England lost 2-1 against the Czech Republic in Prague on Friday, a defeat that delays their qualification for Euro 2020.
Gareth Southgate's team, which had the best chances, succumbed to local pressure in the final part of the match (85) when they conceded a goal from Zdenek Ondrasek.
The Czech defender Jakub Brabec (9) responded to the opening goal by the English, a penalty converted by Harry Kane (5).
The result seems fair considering the seven shots from the English compared to the 17 from the Czechs, who showed a very different image from the 5-0 defeat in the first leg.
This is England's first defeat in qualifying stages in 44 matches, with a loss in Ukraine... 10 years ago.
"We had a perfect start but we were soft with the ball and they scored shortly after," said captain Kane.
With 12 points and three games left to play, the Three Lions, who would have sealed their ticket to the Euros with a victory, remains top of Group A, level on points with the Czechs (12 points, one game more) and ahead of Kosovo (8 points). But the dream of a final at Wembley is still alive for England. (D)
