Laver Cup 2019: Team Europe defeated Team Rest of the World and was crowned the tournament champion [PHOTOS].

The European team, led by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, won the Laver Cup on Sunday against a team from the rest of the world, their third victory in the three editions played.

Without Nadal, who did not play on Sunday due to inflammation in his wrist, 'Team Europe' was crowned in the last individual match, in which German player Alexander Zverev defeated Canadian player Milos Raonic (6-4, 3-6, and 10-4) to win by 13 points to 11.

In this exhibition tournament held over three days in Geneva, the team from the rest of the world was leading 11-10 before the last individual match. Previously, Federer had reduced the difference by defeating American player John Isner, 6-4 and 7-6 (7/3).

In the competition system, victory on the first day, Friday, awarded one point, two on the second day, and three on the third day.

Nadal, who played a singles match and a doubles match on Saturday, was absent on Sunday and could not play the planned doubles match with Federer.

He was replaced by Greek player Stefanos Tsisipas, who played alongside Federer, only to lose against the American pair John Isner/Jack Sock: 5-7, 6-4, and 10-8.

The first edition of the Laver Cup was held in 2017 in Prague, and the second one last year in Chicago. Europe also won both editions.
