The singer Alejandro Sanz will have to pay more than five million euros (5.5 million dollars) to his former manager, Rosa Lagarrigue, after losing the lawsuit filed against him in 2017
According to sources from the artists representation agency, in a sentence dated September 9, revealed today, the Court of First Instance number 74 in Madrid "declares unjustified" the termination of the artistic representation contract that linked both parties.
Thus, this sentence obligates Gazul Producciones - Sanz's company - to pay RLM S.L (Rosa Lagarrigue's agency), for various concepts, including lost profit, 5,430,022.27 euros, plus interest and updates.
"The singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz (D. Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro) has been declared jointly liable for the payment of the sentence. The sentence is not final, it can be appealed," indicates the judge's document.
RLM filed this lawsuit against the Madrid-born musician after Sanz unilaterally left the agency in 2016, as reported by the agency. They were claiming an indemnity of 7,790,186.12 euros, an amount that has been reduced to over five million.
