Reddit user MasterDinnerFlax tried to address this issue and came up with a possible explanation:

He stated that since the Saiyan is a warrior race, it was natural for Saiyans to have enhanced senses to help them win fights.

Being a half-Saiyan, Gohan inherited these traits from his father. His senses are much superior to humans' due to his Saiyan blood.

He doesn't need glasses when fighting because his normal vision can capture fast movements and similar things. But due to having intensified senses, doing normal things like writing and reading a book is difficult for him. The purpose of the glasses for Gohan is the opposite. They hinder Gohan's senses so that he can comfortably read books like humans.

On the other hand, others believe that Gohan has chosen to wear glasses only to better adapt to the normal life he tries to lead with Videl and Pan, as the character seems much less threatening when he wears glasses.

It is worth remembering that in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', after fully retiring from martial arts and neglecting his training, Gohan lost a lot of his muscle mass, becoming quite thin. His hair has also become flat compared to how it was in the Boo Arc. He wears a gray collared shirt with red pants and transparent glasses.
