In several countries in Latin America and the rest of the world, today, August 29th is celebrated as Gamer's Day. It is an initiative that celebrates the protagonists of this digital entertainment industry.
Age is not a barrier in gaming, and this has been demonstrated in eSports. Currently, there are CS: GO and Call of Duty players who are up to 30 years old, while in other games we see pro-players as young as 13 years old (the champion of the Fortnite World Cup).
But where did this initiative come from, that is the big question.
Why is Gamer's Day celebrated on August 29th?
In 2018, several specialized video game media outlets such as Hobby Consolas, PlayManía, and PC Manía made a movement to recognize gamers on this date.
Since then, many brands have joined the trend with activations, offers, talks, and many more details for players around the world.
