Natalia Málaga criticizes the performance of the women's volleyball team at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games
The Peruvian coach Natalia Málaga criticized the performance of the women's volleyball team at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, which was eliminated in the group stage and couldn't achieve a medal.
"The issue is the arrogance of the Peruvian player who wants to be paid what she thinks she's worth, even when she's not worth it most of the time," she said in an interview with Movistar Deportes.
The national coach also attacked Karla Ortiz. The volleyball player claimed they lacked financial support to achieve results.
"Karla (Ortiz) can't come out as the leader of the group and say she doesn't have a salary. They receive athlete support, a salary from their clubs and the Federation, which can range from 5 to 7 thousand soles. Is it too little to say that she doesn't have money for the trip?", she commented.
