Peru adds its tenth gold medal
Peruvian athlete Kevin Martinez was crowned in men's fronton and took the gold medal by defeating Argentine Guillermo Osorio. He won the first set 15-6 and the second set 15-10 to celebrate his victory at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
The sport of fronton experienced its most memorable day in history this Saturday thanks to the efforts of athletes Claudia Suarez (51) and Kevin Martinez (27). With this achievement, the Peruvian delegation now has a total of 33 medals, including 10 gold, 7 silver, and 16 bronze.
Kevin Martinez has been the consecutive national champion in fronton for the past 7 years, as well as a two-time Pan American champion. At 27 years old, his experience, successes, and unwavering determination have filled him with confidence, which he demonstrated in all his matches at these Pan American Games.
