Peruvian Nicolás Pacheco got on the podium in the skeet (clay shooting) discipline after winning the bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. And at the same time, he qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
"I'm happy to achieve this for my country, it has been the toughest part of my career because of the level and the circumstances. They took away a target from me, but we were able to fight for a medal. I dreamed of hearing my anthem on the podium, and it came true," said Nicolás Pacheco.
"This victory is for all Peruvians, I dreamed of this moment. I am happy to achieve this qualification," added Pacheco, who joins Marko Carillo and Alessandro de Souza as representatives of shooting for the Olympic Games.
"I have a World Cup in Finland in the coming days, the goal there is to reach the final. For Tokyo 2020, the idea will always be to win. Winning an Olympic medal is my dream," Pacheco concluded.
