Peruvian Marko Carrillo won the bronze medal in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games by stepping onto the podium in the shooting event, rapid fire pistol at 25 meters. With this, the national delegation adds its 12th medal.
Shooter Marko Carrillo scored 21 points in the final and took home the bronze. The gold and silver medals went to Cuba, thanks to the participation of Jorge Álvarez (28 points) and Leuris Pupo (26 points), respectively.
And while the top two qualified for Tokyo 2020, the Caribbean country already had a spot beforehand. Thus, Marko Carrillo becomes the seventh Peruvian to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Before him, Christian Pacheco, Mary Luz Andia, Kimberly García, Alessandro de Souza, Royner Navarro, and Stefano Peschiera had already done it.
