The last Wednesday, Peruvian surfer Maria Fernanda Reyes was reported for assault at the Miraflores police station. The athlete, who will be in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, had a strong altercation with a citizen outside a shopping center.

The victim reported that Reyes' partner was confronting a cashier at Teleticket for alleged poor service, where the only thing she was looking for was to have an image or video of the man, and that's when the athlete assaulted the young woman.

The incident was reported by América Noticias, where the victims hid their identity out of fear of retaliation. It is worth mentioning that Maria Fernana Reyes sent a statement on her official Facebook account, where she apologizes for the incident.

"My reaction is unjustifiable and undoubtedly was a result of the poor service at the Teleticket sales module (...) My next step will be to focus on my participation in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and achieve my goal for which I have been working so hard in recent months," she wrote.
