Note

There are only nine days left until the English market closes its doors and Chelsea still has a lot of work ahead of them. The Blues, who took longer than expected to formalize the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, have only been able to close the signings of the Italo-Brazilian midfielder Jorginho and the English goalkeeper Robert Green, so they must now move almost against the clock to be able to complete the moves that will reinforce their squad.

Among those pending operations is the one that, according to the London Evening Standard, aims to sign at least a couple of players who play in Serie A: the Italian center-back Mattia Caldara and the Uruguayan midfielder Matías Vecino.

For the former, a player who has moved up the agenda due to the difficulties of signing his Juventus teammate, Daniele Rugani, the London club could offer around £35.5 million; while to secure the services of the latter, the offer to Inter Milan could easily reach £32 million.

With this double investment, which would total £67.5 million (around €75 million), the Blues intend to consolidate a new project to which offensive-minded players could still be added. Likewise, the hypothetical departure of Thibaut Courtois would force the club to find a new goalkeeper.
